#HelpKyoAniHeal 5% Donation Announcement

Hey everyone, Matt here from AusAni.

Firstly, thank you all so much for choosing AusAni to start and build your anime collectable collection! I love anime figures – and being a collector myself is what gave me the idea of starting AusAni in the first place. So thank you all for your support of AusAni over the years, and long may Australia’s love of anime continue to grow.

For those of you that may not be aware, on July 18 an arson attack took place at Kyoto Animations First Studio, an attack that at this time has claimed the lives of 34 innocent people, staff from KyoAni. This is a tragedy beyond words – I’ve visited the KyoAni studio that was attacked – to know that so many people have been killed and injured so pointlessly has been really difficult to deal with, as an anime fan I feel connected to these people. I’ve struggled for the best way to deal this situation. I’ve donated to Sentai Filmworks GoFundMe and would urge any of you to do the same if you are able.

I love KyoAni. I really do. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu remains to this day my favourite show, I have a huge life sized tapestry of Akiyama Mio from K-On just behind me. Amagi Brilliant Park gave me Sento Isuzu, one of my favourite characters ever – and Hibike Euphonium is one of my favourite shows from the last three years. The animation on works like Violet Evergarden and Koe no Katachi lead the industry – quality that probably only UFOTABLE are even anywhere near reaching at this point.

And this isn’t even mentioning shows like Nichjou, Free, Hyouka and Chinubyu… Man, it makes me really sad to think about what’s happened.

For a studio that has given so much to the anime industry and its fans – businesses like AusAni and people like me – it feels wholly appropriate that AusAni would do something – anything – to help. With that in mind, I’m announcing that from today, July 22 2019 through to the end of August, 5% of all sales made will be donated to the Help KyoAni Heal GoFundMe being run by Sentai Filmworks – which can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-kyoani-heal

This applies to sales of all In Stock items and any Pre-Orders paid in this time. This also means that if you’d like to settle a Pre-Order early and have your purchase contribute, feel free to emails us at orders@ausani.com.au and request an early Invoice. We’ll be happy to help out. Usual rules of Pre-Orders will apply as per the T&C’s.

In the meantime, let’s keep the victims, their families, friends and colleagues in our hearts and prayers. We all hope the day comes that KyoAni will return to our screens – but before any of that, we simply hope that all the people affected can get through this as best they can. Haruhi once said that dreams start by believing – and I believe in the love and strength of the anime community coming together to help KyoAni. And I dream that with that support, KyoAni will rise again.

Thank you everyone, and may we all #HelpKyoAniHeal
